Somaliland’s Foreign Affairs Ministry

The Republic of Somaliland Foreign Affairs Ministry on Wednesday said that elections organized by Somalia’s Federal Gov’t have nothing to do with Somaliland and asserted to the Int’l community that it is an independent state.

Somaliland’s Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a statement that the gov’t of Somaliland informs the United Nations, African Union, the European Union and the Int’l Community in general that Somaliland is an independent state which has nothing to do with the election system of fragile administration in Somalia.

Therefore, the republic of Somaliland warns the administration and politicians of Somalia against the fake and unrealistic claims aimed at misleading the int’l community.

The statement came a day after Somalia’s PM Mohmed Husein Roble received the list of candidates vying for Senate seats allocated for Somaliland and endorsed an agreement reached by senate leader Abdi Hashi and deputy PM Khada Gulied, who both hail from Somaliland.
